Lake Inferiore is the shallowest among the three lakes, with a maximum depth of only 9 meters and an average depth of 3 meters.

It is situated at an altitude of 15 meters, the same as Lake di Mezzo.

The Masetti dam separates Lake Inferiore from Vallazza and the lower course of the Mincio.

Since 1947, the lands on the left bank have been affected by the establishment of the industrial zone of Mantova, with construction starting for a refinery that began production in December 1953.
