Prukljan Lake
Lake Prukljan or Prokljansko jezero is a lake in the lower reaches of the Krka River, 5.6 km north of Šibenik and about 1.5 km west of Skradin in Croatia.
It covers 11.5 km². The northern part is shallow, and the southern part is up to 22 m deep. The lake is fed by sea water, so its salinity is higher towards the bottom. The lake is not a classic closed lake, but rather one of the natural phenomena of cryptodepressions (its surface is above sea level, and the bottom is below).
In the northern part, there is the islet of Stipanec, which contains ruins from antiquity and the Middle Ages . On the coast there are two settlements: Raslina and Prukljan .
The fish found in the lake include eel, freshwater sardines (chokavice), and small fish (golac).
From the lake, you can reach the Krka National Park upstream along the Krka River.
