The Sacramento sucker (Catostomus occidentalis) is a species of ray-finned fish in the family Catostomidae.
It is primarily found in California with some populations extending into Oregon and Nevada. From Mad River in north California to Salinas River in central California; throughout Sacramento-San Joaquin drainage from Goose Lake in Oregon to Kern River in California.
Four susbpecies were recognized, but in need more study.
