Romanian loach is a species of cyprinid fish in the family Cobitidae. It was originally placed in the genus Cobitis.
It is found in Danube tributaries in Romania (Arges, Olt, Jiu, Mureş and Tapolitza systems) ans Serbia (Vratna, Zamna and Rečka)
Max length: 10.5 cm SL
Presence of a thin, black line along flank. Adipose crests on caudal peduncle weakly developed. Dark spots at caudal base hardly visible. Few (8-13) blotches in midlateral row, often horizontally elongated.
