Dawho River is a distributary of the South Edisto River. As the South Edisto River approaches the Atlantic coast in South Carolina, it splits into several branches, one of which is the Dawho River.
The Dawho flows eastward, eventually joining waterway North Edisto River and forming part of the complex estuarine system in the area.
