Kallsjön is a lake in Åre municipality in Jämtland and is part of the Indal River\’s main catchment area. The lake is 134 meters deep, has an area of ​​158 square kilometers and is 382 meters above sea level . The lake is drained by the watercourse Indalsälven.

Lake Kallsjön, which has been regulated for electricity production purposes since the early 1940s, has an area of ​​156 km², is 134 m deep and is Sweden\’s 9th largest lake by volume, 6.1 billion m³.

Kall is now the name of the church village on the eastern side of the lake. On the western side of the lake is the village of Huså , which until the early 20th century was a mill site. At the southern end of the lake is the village of Bonäshamn . The lake\’s outlet is at the southern end and flows via Järpströmmen down to the municipality\’s central town Järpen , where the water flows into lake Little , which is also part of the Indalsälven.
