The North Fork of the Edisto is formed by the confluence of Chinquapin Creek and Lightwood Knot Creek. The North Fork meanders about 66 miles to the city of Orangeburg, then turns due south and continues 20 miles to join the South Fork, forming the main stem Edisto River.
